Preferences
Unwrella-IO includes a Preferences Widget, allowing you to customize most of the app’s settings and actions to fit your workflow.
Changing Mouse Navigation Mode
The “Navigation Style” drop-down in Unwrella-IO enables users to customize the default 3D-Viewport mouse navigation to a mode that aligns more closely with their habits or preferences. By default, the 3D-Viewport mouse navigation is set to a Blender-style interaction. If you prefer to use a mouse navigation style similar to other software you are familiar with, you can easily switch to your preferred style using the “Navigation Style” drop-down menu.
Check for Updates
This switcher allows you to check whether your current version of Unwrella-IO is up to date. If Unwrella-IO has internet access, it will automatically notify you in the status line upon startup whenever a new version is available.
Changing the Keboard Shortcuts
To customize the keyboard shortcuts, navigate to the “Preferences” menu. Here, you can select your preferred 3D application to simulate its viewport navigation style.
The predefined keyboard shortcuts in Unwrella-IO are an eclectic mix, incorporating elements familiar to artists from various applications. Some shortcuts are universal, such as:
- CTRL+O for opening files.
- CTRL+S for saving data.
Others are based on associations, for instance:
- D for Dashboard or Stash.
- O for Outliner (as in Blender) or Manager.
- S for Show UV Seams.
etc.
However, all these shortcuts are easily customizable to suit the user’s preferences and habits.
For modifying keyboard shortcuts for various actions such as importing objects, exporting, toggling wireframe or seam overlays, etc., simply click on the button displaying the current shortcut. Then, press the key you wish to assign as the new shortcut. This change is immediate and will be saved as the default shortcut for future use.
Auto-Save Incremental Export
This feature enables users to automatically save their work incrementally. By pressing the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+S (which can be customized by the user), the software appends a numeric suffix (+1) to the filename and exports the current object to the same folder it originated from.
Additionally, in the “Quick Export Format” dropdown menu, users can select the default export format, ensuring consistency across the current and future projects.
License
Under the “License” tab, you will find all available licensing options for your application. For more details, please refer to the “Licensing” section of this documentation.
