First Run

Let’s try it.

Run Packer-IO

After downloading and installing Packer-IO, locate it in your applications
(Windows: Start Menu; Mac: Applications) and launch it.

After a short time, you should see the Packer-IO Window. It should look like this: Packer-IO Window

Step 1

You can now double-click in the window or click on the "+" icon on the left sidebar to load your object. Alternatively, you can simply drag and drop an object into the window. All three methods are synonymous, and you should end up with something like this: Packer-IO Window and the imported Object

Step 2

The 3D object should now be imported and visible in the window. Press the “Pack” button Packer-IO Window and the imported Object

Step 3

Packer-IO will pack the UVs and overlay the UV Wireframe result in the foreground.
The outcome should resemble the following screenshot: Packer-IO Window and the imported Object

Step 4

To toggle between the 3D object and the packed UV-Wireframe, you can
double-click with the right mouse button,
press SPACE on the keyboard, or
click the small ‘Switch’ icon located in the bottom right corner of the screen. Packer-IO Window and the imported Object

👏 Congratulations!

You have successfully completed your first UV-Packing task. You are now ready to import any of your unwrapped objects and explore UV-packing with PackerIO using the advanced features detailed in the ‘Getting Started’ section.
