Handling Multiple Objects

Single vs Multiple Objects

Unwrella-IO offers versatile unwrapping options to cater to different user needs. You can choose to unwrap your entire scene or only specific selected objects.

V1. Unwrapping the Entire Scene

The most common practice in Unwrella-IO is to unwrap and pack the entire scene. This process is straightforward: Unwrella-IO UV Settings

Step 1

No Selection Required: You don’t need to select any objects in the scene.

Step 2

Initiating the Unwrap Process: Simply press the “Unwrap” button. Unwrella-IO will automatically assume that you intend to unwrap and pack all objects in the scene.

V2. Unwrapping Selected Objects

For more targeted workflow, Unwrella-IO allows you to unwrap a single object or a group of objects: Unwrella-IO UV Packing Settings

Step 1

Selecting Objects: In the viewport or manager, select the object or objects you wish to unwrap.

Step 2

Unwrapping the Selection: After making your selection, press the “Unwrap” button. Unwrella-IO will only unwrap the objects you have selected.

Selective Unwrapping with Varied Settings

In scenarios where your model comprises multiple objects or sub-objects, Unwrella-IO offers the flexibility to select and unwrap individual objects or a group of objects using different settings compared to the rest of the scene. This feature is particularly useful in workflows that require varied unwrapping and packing strategies for different components of the model.

Understanding the “Multiple Values” Highlight

When you apply different unwrapping or packing settings to various objects or sub-objects within the same scene, Unwrella-IO indicates these variations through the “Multiple Values” highlight buttons in the menu (s. screenshot above). These icons serve as a visual cue, signaling that different objects or sub-objects are governed by distinct unwrapping parameters.

Indicators of Per-Object Settings

Unwrella-IO Window and Object When you observe highlighted buttons (s. screenshot above) within the Unwrella-IO menu, it’s an indication that different per-object settings have been applied. These highlights are designed to alert you that the objects or sub-objects within your scene are not all controled by a uniform set of unwrapping parameters.

Upon selecting the “Unwrap” option under these circumstances, Unwrella-IO engages in a detailed packing process. It systematically processes each object or sub-object, applying the specific settings defined for them. This step-by-step approach ensures that each component of your model is unwrapped according to its unique parameters, allowing for a customized and efficient unwrapping experience.

Reseting values

If you need to reset the UV parameters that have been set for individual objects in Unwrella-IO, follow these simple steps:

Step 1

Deselect All Objects: Ensure that no objects are selected in your scene.

Step 2

Set Source and Target Values: Change both the source and target values to 0, or any other number of your choice.

By doing this, you will effectively reset the UV parameters for all objects in your scene to the specified value.
