Install
UnwrellaConnect for Blender requires either Unwrella-IO or Packer-IO to function properly.

UnwrellaConnect is free to use, but it requires an external application to function:
- When used with the free Packer-IO, it fully supports UV packing free without limitations.
- However, UV unwrapping will not work unless a licensed version of Unwrella-IO is installed on your computer.
Without Unwrella-IO, only the packing functionality via Packer-IO will be available.
In the following steps you can learn how to easily install UnwrellaConnect.
Installing UnwrellaConnect Extension
UnwrellaConnect is compatible with Blender 4.2 and newer.
Step 1: Download UnwrellaConnect Extension
Begin by downloading UnwrellaConnect from Github.
Step 2: Locate ‘unwrella-connect-for-blender-1.0.0.zip’
Navigate to your download folder and find the file named ‘unwrella-connect-for-blender-1.0.0.zip’.
Step 3: Install ‘unwrella-connect-for-blender-1.0.0.zip’
The installation is very simple. Simply drag & drop the “unwrella-connect-for-blender-1.0.0.zip” into your Blender Viewport.
Step 4: Activating UnwrellaConnect in Blender
Once installed using drag&drop, you can see the extension in the Blender Addon manager and can activate and deativate it as needed.
In most cases UnwrellaConnect will automatically identify and use Unwrella-IO or Packer-IO without the need for any further configuration.
In special cicumstances you might want to override the auto-detection. In these cases you can provide a custom path to Unwrella-IO or Packer-IO with the corresponding field in the Add-on Preferences.
Step 5: Unwrap using UnwrellaConnect
UnwrellaConnect will appear in Blender under the UV Editing tab.
If you don’t see the UnwrellaConnect panel, make sure you have an object selected in the viewport. The addon becomes visible only when a mesh object is selected—since it is context-sensitive to unwrapping operations.

🚮 Uninstalling UnwrellaConnect for Blender
To uninstall UnwrellaConnect, follow these steps:
- In Blender, go to Edit → Preferences → Get Extensions.
- Locate UnwrellaConnect in the list of installed add-ons.
- Click the small arrow next to it, then select Uninstall.
