Presets
The Preset Management feature allows you to save, load, and organize your current unwrapping and packing settings for later use. Presets help ensure consistent results across multiple projects and enable faster setup when working with similar assets or production pipelines.
Two buttons are available in the Packer‑IO docking bar:
- Save Preset – Stores the current configuration.
- Manage Presets – Opens the preset manager, where saved presets can be loaded or organized.
Save Preset
The Save Preset function stores all currently active settings and values from the Packer‑IO widget. Once saved, the preset becomes available in the Preset Manager and can be reused at any time.
Please note the following limitations:
- The name Default is reserved and cannot be used, as it refers to the built‑in default configuration.
- Presets can only store uniform settings. If multiple objects are selected and a setting contains different values per object, the configuration cannot be saved as a preset.
- Presets are designed to be reusable across different objects. Settings that depend on a specific object structure, naming, or hierarchy cannot be reliably applied to other assets and are therefore excluded.
These constraints ensure that presets remain portable, predictable, and compatible across different projects and asset types.
Preset Manager
The Preset Manager allows you to view, apply, and manage all saved presets. From here, you can quickly reuse existing configurations, define a default preset, or remove presets that are no longer needed.
Apply Preset
To apply a preset, click the Apply button next to the desired preset. The stored settings are immediately loaded and applied to the Packer‑IO widget.
Make Default
If you want a specific preset to be used as the default for all future sessions—for example, a predefined organic unwrapping setup with specific packing parameters—click the star icon next to the preset.
Once marked as default, this preset will be automatically loaded whenever Packer‑IO is started or reset.
Delete Preset
Presets that are no longer required can be removed by clicking the X icon on the right side of the preset entry. Deleting a preset permanently removes it from the list.
