Mirror Values
Mirror
Many character rigs are built with a symmetrical structure, making the Mirror tools in BonesPro a major time saver.
This rollout allows you to transfer:
- weight values
- inclusion/exclusion states
from one side of the rig to its mirrored counterpart.
Symmetry is determined by the bone positions at the time they are assigned to the BonesPro modifier.
This means you can animate your rig freely without losing mirror functionality, even if bones move out of alignment during animation.
Show in Viewports
When enabled, helper gizmos are displayed in the viewport to assist with mirror setup:
- An orange plane shows the mirror axis and orientation
- Colored bounding boxes highlight detected counterpart bones
- Arrows on the plane indicate the direction of data transfer
This provides real-time feedback while adjusting mirror settings.
Mirror Plane
Defines the orientation of the mirror plane used for symmetry.
Offset
Adjusts the position of the mirror plane.
Use this if your mesh or rig is not centered on the world origin or symmetry axis.
Threshold
Controls how accurately BonesPro detects mirrored bone counterparts.
- Increase the value if correct counterparts are not detected
- Decrease the value if incorrect bones are being matched
⚠️Setting this value too high may result in incorrect pairings.
Flip Mirror Direction
Determines which side of the rig is used as the source for mirroring.
The viewport arrows always indicate the current direction of data transfer.
Mirror Bone Settings
Copies all settings from the selected bones to their detected mirror counterparts.
This includes weights, exclusions, and related deformation settings.
