Installation and Licensing
Installing BonesPro
Workstation Installation
To install BonesPro on a machine, simply run the installer. It will place all required files into their corresponding default directories.
There are separate installers for different versions of 3ds Max.
Make sure to use the installer that matches your version.
Network Render Installation
Network rendering requires the plugin to be installed on every machine participating in rendering.
For render farms, you can use the BonesProProxy plugin:
- Does not allow editing skinning setups
- Supports evaluation and rendering
- Does not require additional licenses

Accessing the Plug-in
After installation, BonesPro is available in:
👉 Modifier Stack → Command Panel
Additional components installed:
- ParaBone (helper modifier)
- BoneJiggler (helper modifier)
- MetaBone (helper object)

BonesPro customers can download all available plug-ins and recompiles from the Customer Area:

License System
BonesPro uses a mobile licensing system, which allows you to:
- install the software on multiple computers
- activate the license on one machine at a time
- transfer the license between machines worldwide
Activation and deactivation are handled with a simple click.
An internet connection is required, or alternatively a USB-based transfer can be used.
Activating the License
- Create or select an object
- Apply the BonesPro modifier
- Open the Properties rollout
- Click Activate License
If you are online, activation will be completed immediately.
Deactivating the License
To deactivate the license:
- Click the Deactivate button in the Properties rollout
Once deactivated, the license can be activated again on the same or another computer.
